Why is Social Media important to Writers?

According to Alexa analytics, Twitter has 910,000,000 unique visitors, making it the ninth largest website on the Internet.

With 145 million Twitter users and over 500 million people on Facebook, social media is the most powerful marketing tool for writers. It’s also free.

Writers, readers, directors, publishers, broadcasters and actors all use these sites to network and share information. Writers looking for their big break are sorely missing out by waiting on the sidelines.

Social media is incredible because it allows you to talk to anyone, even big names and celebrities. For those worried about time constraints, certain applications can be automated and scheduled in advance. Social media is incredible because:-

  • Thousands of reporters and media outlets are online and always keep their eyes peeled for interesting people and stories.
