WHY SHOULD YOU LISTEN TO HER…?
Because no-one recognises the need for or knows how to write memorable, intelligent, strong and authentic female characters better than her.

WRITING THE HEROINE'S STORY (Seminar), THE WOMAN IN THE STORY: WRITING MEMORABLE FEMALE CHARACTERS (Author)

BIOGRAPHY

Helen Jacey graduated from her MA in Screenwriting at the London Institute in 2001 and since then has written numerous film, television and radio projects for UK and European production companies. Realizing that most screenwriting books don’t address the female character, Helen decided to research the differences between the hero and heroine’s journey models and undertook her doctorate at the University of the Arts London, which she completes this year.

Alongside screenwriting, Helen widely lectures on screenwriting. Her highly popular two day WRITING THE HEROINE'S STORY seminar is run several times a year, attended by writers from all over Europe. She is guest lecturer on several MAs in Screenwriting, including the University of the Arts London, Bournemouth University and the London Film School. She is also an external examiner for film studies at Southampton University.

Her first book, THE WOMAN IN THE STORY: WRITING MEMORABLE FEMALE CHARACTERS is published in 2010 by Michael Wiese Productions. Helen lives in Brighton.
