BIOGRAPHY

Writer/Director Deva originally trained as an actress at Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a BP Scholarship and then went on to spend the summer studying filmmaking at Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, on a William and Eva Fox Fellowship.

Her short films have won many awards including a Silver Plaque at Chicago International Film Festival, joint runner-up for the BBC New Filmmakers award, second place at Raindance East Film Festival and the Broadcast Young Talent Award for Best Sound Editor.

From 2006 to 2007 she was mentored by Gurinder Chadha on the Guiding Light's Scheme and to continue the script development and career support Gurinder gave her, in August 2007 she founded the ICA Lab.

At the ICA Lab she is at present developing her feature films MHAIRI, LAST RITES and THE GARDEN.

She is also in the second year of shooting a five year documentary on creative sustainability, FIVE ARTISTS, FIVE YEARS.
