He is Principal Lecturer in Screenwriting and Framework Leader for the undergraduate Media Production programmes at Bournemouth University.

He joined Bournemouth in September 2009 having spent three years working at the University of Portsmouth and two and a half years working at Southampton Solent University (where he devised the undergraduate degree in Screenwriting).  He gained his PhD in Screenwriting from Bangor University in 2009.

This was a practice-led research project that involved writing a feature film screenplay and an accompanying critical commentary.
